Our purpose

An Islamic answer to a modern problem.

Nisf is a matchmaking app for practising Muslims, built so the search for a spouse keeps to Islamic manners: the family involved, no private chat, no photos of sisters.

Getting married has become harder for many Muslim families today.

  • Traditional methods

Families now live far apart, often across districts and countries. A good match may be beyond the few people you can ask.

  • Dating apps

Built around photos and private chat, not how a family arranges a nikah. Even apps for Muslims rarely keep to Islamic rules.

So, with the help of Allah, we built Nisf. The name means “half”, from the hadith that marriage completes half of the deen.

Why Nisf

Three promises we keep.

Most apps are built to keep you scrolling. Nisf is built to get you to nikah, the way your family would want it.

“And among His signs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves, that you may find tranquillity in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy.”
Qur’an, ar-Rum 30:21That is the home we hope to help you build.
  1. Islam-guided

Every step follows the Sunnah, not the way dating apps work. When a request is accepted, the brother is connected with the sister, and her wali is always part of it. The conversation goes through the family.

    • Connected through the wali
    • No private chat
    • Nothing to swipe
  2. Privacy-focused

Sisters cannot upload a photo, and brothers control who sees theirs. Contact details stay private until you choose to share them. Your phone number is never on your profile; it goes only to the family you say yes to.

    • Contact stays private
    • Brothers control who sees photos
  3. Purpose-built

Nisf is for marriage and nothing else. Our team reviews profiles by hand, so the people you see are serious about nikah. When you no longer need Nisf, you can delete your account and data completely.

    • Marriage only
    • Profiles reviewed by people

From profile to nikah

Six simple steps, done the halal way.

Here is how it works, from your first profile to the nikah.

  1. Create your profile

Say who you are, how you practise, and what you hope for in a spouse.

  2. We check profiles

Our team checks each wali's details and reviews profiles by hand, so the people you see are genuine and here for marriage.

  3. Browse profiles

Look through profiles of practising Muslims who share your values and want to marry.

  4. Send a request

When a profile feels right, send a marriage request. The other side reviews your profile and decides, in their own time.

  5. Exchange contact details

Once both sides accept, the brother receives the wali’s number, and the sister and her wali receive his.

  6. Continue towards nikah

From there, the two families take it forward in their own way, insha'Allah.
