How to use Nisf

Eight minutes, from installing the app to deleting your profile once your nikah is fixed. The video is spoken in Malayalam. The chapters below say the same in writing, and each one plays the video from that point.

  1. What the video covers

Making a profile, sending a request, editing your details, and deleting your profile once your nikah is fixed.

  2. Install the app and sign in

Search for Nisf on Google Play or the App Store and install it. Open it, allow notifications, go through the welcome screens and choose Continue with Google.

  3. Your first details and the home screen

Enter a few basic details, such as your name and whether you are a brother or a sister. The bar at the bottom leads to profiles, requests, courses and coaching, and settings.

  4. Filter the profiles

The filter under the search bar narrows profiles by age, country, state, city and religious background.

  5. Send a request

Open a profile, tap Send Request and choose a duration, such as one week or one month. If you have no profile yet, the app asks you to make one first.

  6. Fill in your profile

The profile form runs over several pages, and you can switch it from English to Malayalam at the top. Brothers are asked for a photo here. Sisters do not upload photos.

  7. Your wali's number and your privacy

A sister adds her wali's phone number in Settings, under My Information. Our team checks her wali's details before she can send or accept a request. Here you can also set your privacy options and turn on WhatsApp updates about your requests.

  8. Follow your requests

The Requests tab shows requests you have received and sent, those accepted, and those not taken forward. Once a request is accepted, the contact details are shown so the families can talk.

  9. Subscription and sorting

Brothers start with a 7-day free trial with 3 requests, then need a subscription to send and accept requests. Profiles can be sorted by last seen, newest or city. Check the list is set to All, not only the profiles you have viewed.

  10. Edit, pause or delete your profile

In Settings, open My Profile or My Information and use the three-dot menu to edit, deactivate, share or delete your profile. Delete it once your nikah is fixed.

  11. Free for sisters, and where to ask

Once her wali is verified, a sister sends, receives and accepts requests without paying. A Donate button is there for sisters who want to support the app. For anything the video does not answer, write to the team on WhatsApp.
